Dr. Jeong earned her Ph.D. in Korean Studies (Teaching Korean as a Foreign Language) from Ewha Womans University in Korea. She specializes in the acquisition of Korean grammar. She also holds certificates as a level 1 Korean language teacher issued by the Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and a level 2 Chinese language teacher for secondary school issued by the Korean Ministry of Education.

Prior to joining the University of Hong Kong in 2020, she taught the Korean language to foreign students from diverse backgrounds for more than a decade. She teaches Korean I.1 (KORE1001), Korean I.2 (KORE1002), Korean II.1 (KORE2001), Korean II.2 (KORE2002), Korean writing 2 (KORE3023), and Chinese-Korean translation (KORE3041).
