Ms. Atsuko Mito

Supporting Teacher: Japanese

Atsuko Mito holds a Bachelor’s degree from Keio University and a Master’s degree in Japanese Applied Linguistics from Waseda University in Tokyo. She has lived in several Asian countries, including Malaysia where she taught students in the Asian Youth Fellowship Program funded by the Japan Foundation. She has also lectured at Waseda University and Hanoi University of Technology in Vietnam. Prior to joining the School of Modern Languages and Cultures, she taught at the University’s School of Professional and Continuing Education. 


Her research interest lies in creative writing for learners of Japanese and peer-learning. Her recent conference presentations include “Introducing Relay-style Story Telling Activities into a Pre-intermediate Japanese Course” at CAJLE Annual Conference 2019 and “Poetry Writing by Beginner Level Students Using “IKIRU” by TANIKAWA Shuntaro” at 2018 International Conference on Japanese Language Education.
